Chip Kidd

Kidd is awesome. Too gushy? No. Really, he is awesome. He is awesome in a ubiquitous kind of way. I really had no idea who he was and then - Wham! - all that changed and I realized he had been everywhere all the time. Well at least he was there in part on bookstore shelves, his cover designs stick in your mind, which is great because the books do too then -- supposedly. I have resisted the urge to buy books just because of their cover -- but it is tempting. I read his book The Cheese Monkeys while on vacation in Toronto happening upon it by accident on my sister's bookshelf. I am enjoying his book The Learners, now and will go to the Philbrook Museum to see him on the 15th of January. He is truly everywhere. And though I found him to be talented, smart and a good writer, I was still taken with this clip found while reading a Wired online interview (read here).
As for the clip...
Inside The Batcave

The idea that now the work of graphic designers is to come up with their own content is very intriguing and somewhat troublesome...
